Ravindra Jadeja who is considered one
of the best all-rounder in today’s time. In 2008 he was signed as a u-19 player
where all other u-19 players signed 2-year contracts Jadeja signed 1-year
contract with RR. Winning the inaugural Season of IPL with Rajasthan royals in
2008 and playing the next season with the same franchise. But little did we all
know Jadeja didn’t took the field in 2010 IPL season as he was banned from Indian premier
league 3rd season.
One year ban was imposed on Jadeja by
the governing council of IPL because he didn’t renew his IPL contract with
Rajasthan Royals and trying to negotiate a larger financial contract with other
IPL franchises, thus resulting in a serious non-adherence to the IPL player
guidelines, IPL said in a statement. The statement from IPL revealed that “unanimous decision taken by the IPL governing
council and on instructions from the Board of Control for Cricket in India
(BCCI) president. Ravindra Jadeja will not be allowed to play for any IPL team
for the next one year.”
The player
guidelines stated by the governing council of IPL are sacrosanct and all the
players are strictly required to obligate it as stated. Any player failing to
do so will face serious consequences.
However, Ravindra Jadeja returned
to IPL in 2011, 4 season of the tournament and played for Kochi tusker’s
Kerala, and after the 4th season he was picked up by Chennai super kings in the auction.
